Last Day!

June 20, 2017

The last week of school went by in a flurry. The elementary french play was staged. Written, staged, directed and acted by the children, it was a most interesting study of a “traditional” classroom. Our music teacher, Nick Arseneau, and his quintet gave us a workshop on jazz by the decades with bass, trombone, drums, trumpet and saxophone over a lunch hour. The kids were dancing in their seats. The casa children worked on their memories from the year which then became Melody’s end of year address. The last day of school, we acknowledged the four children finishing their casa journey with a handing down the light ceremony led by their elementary peers. After Holly and Melody gave their end of year addresses and dismissed the year, we finished with a group sing of Imagine led by Andrew Long. It was a moving end to the year. We wish all Orchard families a joyful summer full of grand adventures.
