A Great Start!

photo[1]Our first two weeks of school have been very busy but the children are now settled and working happily in their casas. The new children from Casa East are getting acquainted with their new friends, teachers and environment. Casa West has been a hive of activity as the arts extension roared into action and children began work on a Summer Vacation book which we will bind and put in the library to keep us warm in January. We were treated to a garden tour by Sam where we harvested potatoes and tomatoes from the kitchen garden and the children have begun full table settings and serving themselves at lunch.

The athletics program has begun in the gym and includes stretching, balance, agility, coordination and cooperative games as well as Music and Movement on Thursdays. After school academic clubs are nearly full upstairs. We are learning about mapping and orienteering in Geography, making our own sketchbooks in Art, beginning a unit on chemical reactions in Science and having fun with vocabulary games in French.

We are hosting an Elementary Information Night on September 23rd. Please contact us if you are interested in attending.
