Light a Candle

We have eight children graduating from our casas next week. We feel it is testament to the school and the parents’ commitment to Montessori that such a large number of our children complete the third year cycle. We also boast a nearly complete retention rate of our graduations going on in Montessori elementary. Six of our students (along with a few from other schools) will comprise our elementary program, opening in September, which we are so excited about! At their graduation, they will thread their way through the gym with lighted candles singing “Light a Candle for Peace”, a song originally sung in 2009 continuously for 24 hours by Montessori schools around the world. The children have been practicing every day for the past week with the help of a talented parent.
