Orff Baby Circles Start Tomorrow!

We are looking forward to tomorrow’s circles. Feel free to tell a friend! We are on the second floor of the Old Orchard Public School. The entrance is around back where parking is available. Stroller parking is available downstairs in the fenced area outside the door. Fees are $20 per session. The theme for our first circle will be Getting to Know You and it will be an introduction to the work we hope to do over the weeks to come. The general format for the circles will be half an hour of discussion followed by an Orff class led by Monica from Pearson School of Music. Orff is an early childhood musicianship program that stresses rhythm, movement and melody. Some of the topics I would like to explore in the circles include Treasure Baskets for Babies, Inspiring Early Literacy, The Sensitive Periods, Fostering Grace and Courtesy, Lead by Following One Step Behind, and Help Me To Do it Myself. The approach will be guided by some fundamental Montessori principals but topics will be chosen based on the interests identified by the group. Each week, you will take home a resource sheet to accompany the material we have covered in class to use at home. Workshops take place in the Studio Room of the school. Hope to see you there!
