The Dream Jar workshop on Saturday was well-attended. The workshop was inspired by the book The Dream Jar by Linden Lee Johnson. A dozen children and their families used decoupage to cover a jar with different shapes and colours of tissue paper. Then they then filled the jar with dreams on little rolled pieces of paper tied up with string to assure sweet slumbers. A battery operated tea light created the source of the glow. It turned out our timing was perfect because that night was earth hour and the dream jars ensured bed time was extra special. Workshops are a nice opportunity for children from the school and the community to spend some time together making something meaningful.
