The Mobile Library

Today The Orchard Mobile Library opened. The library is a cart full of factual books which the children from both casas may check out for one week. They are charged with the responsibility for safeguarding the books and returning them on time. The Librarian ensures the books are accounted for and marks the due date on each child’s library card. We hope children will begin to view their relationship with books as a reciprocal one in which they carefully turn the pages that compel us with ideas, reveal amazing facts, introduce us to an array of interesting characters, illuminate both real and imaginary worlds, and hopefully, inspire us. The children carefully carried placed their books in folders to take home and were eager to collect them at the end of the day.
