This year, our graduates took a trip to The Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art to see the Louise Bourgeois exhibit. They thought her sculptures were remarkable and viewed them from all different angles, including upside down. The gallery staff looked surprised when the children came in the door and reminded them that they must not touch anything. It turned out the warning was not required because they were there to talk about art which they did, with that same gallery staff member, who seemed surprised at the thoughtfulness of their questions. Afterward, Melody and Amandine took them to El Almacen for cookies and lemonade with a stop along the way at the knit cafe, their new favourite spot.
